This month’s session will explore the first principle of Constructed Awareness (CA): bringing awareness to the client’s experience changes their experience. The conversation will focus on how awareness influences emotional experience, shapes perception, and supports therapeutic change through thoughts, sensations, and external perceptions.

Who Should Join

This event is designed for licensed mental health professionals who are:

Event Structure

  • Frequency: Monthly (First Friday at 12:00 PM EST)

  • Duration: 60 minutes

Facilitator

Led by Tyler Orr, LPC, NCC, creator of CA.

This time, Tyler will be joined by Stephanie Levin, LCMHC.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this event, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the first principle of Constructed Awareness (CA): bringing awareness to the client's experience changes their experience.

  2. Explain how awareness of thoughts, sensations, and external perceptions can influence emotional experience and therapeutic change.

  3. Summarize Ron Kurtz's definition of nonviolence and discuss its relevance to awareness-based psychotherapy.
