Training Overview

Constructed Awareness® Level Three: Advanced Trauma Processing in Practice builds upon the foundational awareness practices and trauma-processing approaches introduced in Levels One and Two, inviting clinicians into a deeper integration of CA within their therapeutic work.

This advanced training explores how CA resources and interventions can become part of a cohesive therapy style called Responsive Processing, where trauma processing arises naturally within sessions.

Through instruction, demonstrations, experiential practice, and clinical exploration, participants deepen their understanding of single-event, developmental, and complex trauma. Particular attention is given to recognizing clients' orientation styles, understanding nervous system responses, and responding with presence and flexibility throughout the therapeutic process.

Level Three offers clinicians an opportunity to refine their skills while continuing to deepen the personal awareness and relational presence that support their clinical work.

What You'll Explore

During this training, participants will explore:

  • Responsive Trauma Processing: Supporting the natural emergence of trauma responses during therapy while remaining attentive, flexible, and present with clients' experiences.

  • Advanced Trauma Processing: Deepening their understanding of single-event, developmental, and complex trauma and recognizing distinctions that may inform clinical practice.

  • Orientation and Trauma: Exploring how mental, sensation, and external orientations influence trauma processing, including responses associated with fixed and fragmented orientations.

  • Nervous System Dynamics: Recognizing sympathetic and parasympathetic responses and exploring the ways fight, flight, freeze, and dissociation may appear during trauma processing.

  • Clinical Integration: Bringing CA principles, awareness-based resources, and trauma-processing approaches together through demonstrations, discussion, and experiential practice.

Interactive Training Format

This live online training takes place via Zoom over four days, spanning two weekends. Participants engage in:

  • Informative lectures

  • Live and recorded demonstrations

  • Hands-on practicums

  • Collaborative group discussions

The time between training weekends offers an opportunity for reflection and integration of the material.

What Participants Receive

  • A 55-page handbook

  • 10 demonstration videos

  • 30 hours of continuing education for eligible participants

These resources provide practical tools that therapists can begin integrating into their clinical practice. Participants also have opportunities to practice skills live and learn directly from Tyler Orr, the creator of the CA model.
